I found out today that the proposal I submitted for a cloud computing book has been accepted by the publishers! The commissioning contracts are being posted out to me shortly and I’ll get started on it as soon as I can. I have to write it by the end of January so I’ll take some time out from some of the projects I’m working on.
It’s not going to be a technical book; it’s aimed at business leaders who want to bypass the marketing hype and find out what they need to know about the potential benefits and risks of cloud computing; and it will hopefully help them find ways to improve their businesses in the cloud.
Of course, I wrote a much better description in my proposal, but I can’t really reproduce that here. I’ll see what the contract says, but this blog should only benefit and gain more useful content as I delve deeper into cloud computing.
Great news Mark. Good luck with it. Are you postponing Xmas till February then?

Yes, I’ve submitted a special request to Santa Claus and he’s willing to deliver our presents a bit later than usual this year. Apparently he doesn’t have much on in February so it will give him a bit of much-needed exercise.

Santa is probably as keen as anyone to discover about Cloud computing….
I saw this article, thought you might find it interesting:

Thanks for the news link, Pete. The Voyager probes have done a great job. It’s a shame that V’ger goes on to make trouble for us in the 23rd century, but I’ll probably be long gone by then.
